AjaxTrans rewritten in Mod-Python

After many months of dissatisfaction regarding PHP (especially its Unicode Support), I decided to rewrite AjaxTrans in mod_python. A language which has allowed a much greater flexibility in the area of character sets. This transition has allowed me to incorporate 4 new languages into AjaxTrans:

  1. Chinese
  2. Japanese
  3. Korean
  4. Russian

Enjoy!

PS: Comment on any bugs/errors/interface mistakes (The spanish interface translation is likely full of errors as it’s written by a student who’s only currently taking Spanish… in High-School—me) feedback much appreciated, also translations of the interface into your language would be greatly welcome.

    Nice Work !
But still someting is missing ( Turkish ).
I would like to see Turkish Language Extension,

    However, its a good project.

    Very nice. Excellent work.
What would be very useful is a way to apply this to allowing MY windows to send and receive English, and the person at the other end of the chat pipe to send and receive in their language.

    Possible?

AjaxTrans – Плохо переводит с английского на русский. “Google translate” переводит гораздо лучше

AjaxTrans – Poor translate from English into Russian. “Google translate” translates much better

By far the best English to Korean translator. Worked great last night. Today it says “translation service unavailable”.

I hope you can get it up and running again.

  6. Oonagh Says:

There’s still “translation service not available”, in any language combination.
I read a recommendation of this service only some days ago and was really looking forward to the Russian-English output.

Your transmachine can’t translate English idioms into Portuguese, such as:”I bought that dress for a song”(Babylon doesn’t it too), or “the buck stops here”(Babylon does it all right). Why? Is it so difficult, or is it impossible to insert a glossary of stereotyped metaphorical and idiomatic expressions and make it search for it?

    nice work and very easy
I note, however, since few slowdowns

having to converse in four or five different languages, i have tried most of the available translation tools..none is ever going to be 100% perfect, language has too many vagaries for that , but i find Ajax to be one of the best..

Great work! I use AjaxTrans often as a quick reference for isolated words translations.
I offer to translate the service interface to Brazilian Portuguese, please just send me the instructions.
